Updated: January 26, 2012 Trooper Update:In December, a stray dog was hit by a car on Pepper's Ferry Road in Christiansburg. With both front legs broken, he was sent to a local veterinary clinic. No owner was located, so FACC coordinated with the clinic on his care. While the vet graciously donated her time to help Trooper (his new name), his care still resulted in a large bill that FACC must cover. We have set up a ChipIn link below to help cover these costs - please consider helping to reach the goal. Here are some pictures of Trooper post operation. He is doing great and has been adopted by a wonderful family. We will post some pictures of his new digs sometime soon. We have raised $420 so far, the link below is the remaining balance we are trying to raise to cover his vet bill. Montgomery County Friends of Animal Care & Control, Inc. is now a 501c3 non-profit organization! All donations are now tax deductible. If you are interested in making a donation or volunteering please email: volunteer@mcfacc.org. The volunteers with Montgomery County Friends of Animal Care & Control, Inc. are now opening the county shelter for extended every Saturday from 12-4pm. During summer months we have someone in the shelter from 1 - 5 pm. Please come by for a visit! Friends of Animal Care & Control is a shared dream of a number of local citizens who seek to do their part in bringing an end to the suffering and destruction of the lost, neglected and abandoned animals of our society.
