The Story of Lola
(Namesake of our dog training Program)

We visited Lola 3 times at a shelter before deciding to bring her home. Afraid she would not settle in, yet wanting to give her a chance, we chose to foster Lola. In the past we have only directly adopted our rescues. But this time we didn’t, for this pup felt risky.
Lola and our resident dog Tango got off to a rough start. Unwilling to give up, we decided to look for a dog trainer. That’s when we found Stephanie. Stephanie was direct and honest with us, and alerted us that the new dog combo might not happen. But she was willing to try working toward a solution. Stephanie saw potential in Tango as a dog that could be a role model, and help train Lola in appropriate ways of being (a good dog).
Stephanie proved to be right. She not only guided our dogs to happily coexist, but she helped us build skills we all needed. Our journey led to us adopting Lola. Training with Stephanie was very beneficial. It inspired us to donate to the MCFACC dog training program for two primary reasons:
1) We think dogs like Lola need a second chance, and can have one given proper training
2) We wanted to support Stephanie for her great work, so she could train more dogs like Lola. It was a bonus, that it was an opportunity to support a woman-owned business.
MCFACC named the dog training program after Lola. They wanted to express deepest thanks to Lola's owners for their generous donation that helped secure the future of the training program. (Lola's owners wish to remain anonymous)
